What Old People Do For Fun

The other day I received the funniest video by email and just have to share it. Please do not attempt this at home (or in your own car). I laughed until I hurt.

The Rock

As some of you know, I love reading quotes and passing them on. Sometimes I come across one that makes me say, "I wish I had said that." Right now PaperQuote is my wallpaper and screensaver on my home computer. Today's quote is:

It's a good thing to have all the props pulled out from under us occasionally. It gives us some sense of what is rock under our feet, and what is sand. -Madeleine L'Engle

Having had the props kicked out from under me several times in my life, I know this to be true. Remember the childhood song, "the wise man built his house upon a rock"? Makes me glad that my house is built upon the "Rock" of salvation in Jesus Christ cause the storms can't blow my house down.

Some of my storms have blown the roof off and broken my windows but my foundation still stands. And when that happens I get rebuilt. Right now I am in a rebuilding stage. One of life's storms broke a window or two but the Master Carpenter is repairing my house for me. Isn't it lovely to have God in charge? He is teaching this impatient, take charge, get it done right now personality to wait on His directions. I'm trying my best to listen.
