Yesterday was a good day on the medical front for me. I went for a post surgery check up on my vocal cord surgery which I had almost a year ago. The doctor was well pleased with my progress and has cut me loose. She is an excellent doctor but that is one relationship that I was not sad to end. My vocal cords are now vibrating together when I speak. There will never be a lot of volume to my speech but I am pleased with the voice I now have. Just don't make me mad cause I can't yell and scream.
The medical advances that have occurred in my lifetime are wonderful to see. It is with much gratitude that I think of Dr. Johnson. God has given her such a talent for surgical healing. She can change a life in only a few hours in the operating room. She is truly a life giving force.
Also, Sunday was a good day. After taking a break for a couple of Sundays, I visited First Assembly Church here in Monticello. Bro. Al impresses me as a genuine man of God and I fully intend to go back and hear him preach again. It may be a good experience for me to "visit around" for a few Sunday's and expand my very limited denominational experience. Maybe God is trying to instill in me a greater love for all His people by shaking me out of my comfort zone. Whatever, I'm trying to listen.

I was thrilled to see you and your friend. You will always be welcome at First Assembly. My family treasures every moment we have had and will have in the future with you.
I too had to step back at a time when church got between me and God. It was liberating to allow God back to the center of my life.
Thank you Jesus!
